As the Festival draws closer be sure to shop local for your chance to win a part of the $10, 000 prize draw.

To enter simply spend over $10 at any Wallsend local business, fill out the entry form and be at the Wallsend Christmas Markets and Music festival to win.

The Major prize valued at $3000 will be drawn at 8pm, with minor prizes drawn hourly from 2pm.

Competition closes 12pm Saturday 6th December so shop local and attend the Christmas festivities for your chance to win.

A raised stage will be placed in Tyrell Street near the Rotunda as the feature for the Entertainment for the evening and a focus on Christmas & Family entertainment.

At 8.30pm the lights on the Rotunda and through the street will be switched on and people will be encouraged to wander down Wallsend Town during the entertainment and enjoy the local Christmas Spirit.

Businesses will be encouraged to bring the spirit of Christmas to their shop windows – with a prize being offered for the BEST CHRISTMAS LIGHTS DISPLAY once again being offered for 2008....

Wallsend will showcase a Christmas wonderland of lights for families to enjoy. At 8.30pm the lights on the Rotunda and through the street will be switched on and people will be encouraged to wander down Wallsend Town during the entertainment and enjoy the local Christmas Spirit.

Local businesses will also display Christmas lights and window displays adding to the spirit and festival for families to enjoy.

There will be a prize for the best Christmas lights display, and local businesses are already decorating their shop fronts in an effort to win.

Leanne and the team at Fays Cafe, Fantasy World and Julies La Petite are hot contenders for the prize so be sure to see their Christmas displays at the Wallsend Christmas markets and music festival.

Santa Claus will be making a very special appearance this Saturday at the Wallsend Christmas Markets and Music Event.

Amongst a range of family entertainment and Christmas festivities children will be able to meet with Santa at the Wallsend rotunda at 7:30 pm before the revealing of the town light display.

Santa will have presents for children as well as a special Christmas message for families throughout the evening adding to the local Christmas Spirit.

Free kids activities and live entertainment will be ongoing throughout the day, and families are encouraged to come and participate in the Christmas festivities.
